One Game Studio is a Latin American video game company focused on developing the experience of having superpowers in real life through The Bone, a mobile game that uses augmented reality and the world around us. A critical part of this effort is the R&D and development team. As a Server Engineer, you will help us change the way people play, and you will be part of the team that gives people around the world the experience of having superpowers in real life.

Reports to: CTO


Summary: As Server Engineer, you will be the owner of developing, implementing and managing the game databases as well as setting up and starting up all the servers. Thanks to your work, players will be able to live the individual game experience (solo play only), so that users can explore their real-world environment in real life, get resources, exchange, collect and create powers of all kinds with different features.


You will prepare the servers and manage them to be fully operational once the application takes off. Thanks to you, the experience will be possible for the first player, and later for tens, thousands or hundreds of thousands more!


You will also collaborate with the Software, Art and Game Design teams, including by developing, testing and improving all data transmissions to bring all the mechanics, visuals, animations, FX, audios and others to players in a timely manner.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Development and planning of the server architecture.

  • Development and planning of databases.

  • Administration and growth based on system demand.

  • System monitoring and reporting.


Skills:

  • Programming skills in C #, Goland, JavaScript, Bash, and Python.

  • SQL and non-SQL database management skills.


Desired Experience:

  • Experience with kubernetes and containers.

  • Experience with CI / CD practices

  • Experience using GitHub.

  • Experience in the development of server architecture for videogames.

  • PLUS: Experience in handling Big Data.

  • PLUS: experience using GRPC for data transmission.


Compensation: Depending on capacity and experience.


Location: This is a fully-remote position.
